The smaller encampments often feel more like a snack or an obligation to complete a mission. These are the familiar elements of open world games as we have seen them before.įor example, there are hot air balloons that give you the opportunity to explore and map the environment, but also various bases where you can hide and tinker with your car.Įverywhere you will find places with small and large camps to raid. The world of Mad Max is littered with locations to visit and rob. The game is literally an open sandbox game but with a long campaign and many side missions of course, it takes place on the desert plains of the Wasteland.

Mad Max is a nice mixture of a number of game genres and plays commonplace borrowing from a number of big names. The pity is that, if you haven't seen the movies, the intro may not really provide much clarity. You are left virtually 'naked' with no possessions in the middle of the Wasteland. Stealing the fuel leads Max to be chased and stripped of all his belongings in a not too friendly way. In this lost world, you play as Max, of course, a man with a story left in this not-too-friendly world. just a very cool open world game, which will certainly be appreciated by fans of the movies. The atmosphere is spot-on and driving and tinkering with the Magnus Opus is well worked out and an absolute added value. Often games based on movies are a monotonous affair, therefore not a bad thing, but while very often these are simple hack & slash games with fast repetition, Mad Max dares not.
